You Must Set Your DVR for This TV Show

March 26th, 2012

There’s a pretty crazy motorsports TV series you need to check out. P.S. By crazy, we mean, completely awesome!

Ford and Fuel TV collaborated to bring about the TV series, Octane Academy, which pits four action sports camps against one another in some pretty grueling challenges. And 32 fierce contestants have been divided into those four camps, each run by a pro driver. “The Academy is centered on the adrenaline rush, and boy, does Ford deliver!” said Mary Ellen Abraham, Ford Experimental Marketing Manager.

“Over the past few years, we have seen more and more interest in action sports athletes embracing motorsports – especially Rally and RallyCross, off-road and drifting,” said Scott Denby, Ford Motorsports Business and Strategy Development Manager. “All places where Ford has had a lot of success over the years.” As Mary Ellen explained, the show’s drivers are “Brian Deegan, whose camps featured the Raptor; Ken Block and the Fiesta; Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Mustang; and Tanner Foust with the Focus ST.” So, you’re probably starting to see where the whole “completely awesome” “adrenaline rush” thing comes from.

Contestants have a unique opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience the extreme excitement of performance driving and action sports. “The contestants really didn’t know what to expect. The show is full of surprises, has an edgy appeal and is different from anything we have done in the past,” Mary Ellen added.

Check it out on Mondays at 11 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Pacific on Fuel TV, and also be sure to visit Octaneacademy.com!
